Whitepine — The Chill Room Austin, Texas · 2024

Every kid deserves a space that's truly theirs. At Whitepine, the challenge was creating one room that felt perfect for two — a tween brother and sister who both needed to love it.

The solution was a palette that transcended gender entirely. Benjamin Moore's Boreal Forest and Graytint set a cool, grounded tone. The statement rug brought in orange, green and mustard — bold and energetic without leaning pink or blue. Two sofa-beds for when friends stayed over, floor cushions and poufs in mustard and forest green created flexible, comfortable seating for movie nights, gaming and hanging out. A natural wood media console grounds it all.

The result? A room they both claimed as their own.

That's the real design win.

The Dining Room

Every designer has a room where they get to be truly bold. This was mine.

Deep navy walls, a round walnut table, burnt orange velvet chairs and a dramatic sputnik chandelier set the tone. Then came the gold animal wall sculptures, the anthropomorphic portrait paintings in gilded frames, and a vintage bar cabinet that ties it all together.

The result is a dining room that stops people in their tracks. Exactly as intended.
